7 weeks into the Digital Nomad life: I found my true calling!

It’s unbelievable how fast time flies - I’ve now been away from Belgium for seven weeks. During this time, I’ve barely earned any income, but I have discovered what I truly want to do with my life. The path I’ve embarked on consists of two parts. The first part is something I never dreamed of doing - let alone considered pursuing. And the second part? I’ve been dreaming for months about doing it full-time, and now, thanks to the first part, that’s exactly what I’m doing. Let me explain.
The first thing I do is study Digital Marketing. I came across a course that was so complete and so ideal for a beginner like me - someone who’s afraid of new technology and has an absolute fear of Payconiq. After my mentor provided explanations and + live video guidance on purchasing and using the course, I decided to take a full day to step away from it. It was a lot to take in, and since I’m totally inexperienced in online digital marketing, I was anxious and skeptical, not immediately willing to invest in myself. Because ultimately, that’s what it is: no one hands you money for free, nor does money come raining down from the skies, you have to do something for it. But learning strategies and techniques to reach more people and ultimately help them with something I have experience in - or simply to entertain them - can’t hurt anyone, right? On February 6th, I took a bus to Lepe, where I discovered a clover field and actually found a six-leaf clover!!! Maybe this was the sign I had been waiting for! I was looking for a four-leaf clover and stumbled upon this rare beauty instead. According to ChatGPT, the chances of finding one are 1 in 20,000,000! This had to be a sign from the universe! The day before, I had told my mentor that I would give her my answer on the 7th because I didn’t like the number 6. And then, out of nowhere, I find a six-leaf clover - unbelievable!
My decision was made right after finding this unique gem, but it wasn’t until the next day that I let my mentor know I was ready to take this step for myself and purchase the course. After all, I could resell this course and earn back my full investment. Any future sales would be pure profit! Said and done - the next day I made the purchase.
My world opened up as I started watching the videos and applying everything I learned in practice. In just a few weeks, I went from 64 Instagram followers to over 300! And that was just one aspect of the course. Wow! This was amazing! Even though I never had (and still don’t have) the dream or goal of becoming an influencer, it’s never a bad thing to reach a large audience. That way, you build a following who sees what you really want to share with them.
This brings me to the second part of what I do now. Something I’ve actually been doing since I was 11 years old. Writing. Back then, I wrote in diaries. Later, around 15, I started writing poetry - first in Dutch, then a lot in English, and even a few in Spanish.
More and more, I’ve felt throughout my life that writing is truly my passion, and over time, I started working on short stories. Travel stories, actually - real-life experiences written in my intimate, personal diary style. I want readers to feel like they’re right there with me on my journey. In an honest and detailed way, I write about my encounters, my emotions, planned and unplanned moments, and I take you to the most exotic places - whether close to home or far away.
As a solo traveler, it’s not always easy to travel somewhere and do everything on my own. But my soul constantly longs for new environments and different cultures. I have no choice.
To share these experiences with you, I write - completely from my heart. So far, I’ve published two books in the True Travel Tales series, available for purchase here: https://stan.store/kims_wealthy_wisdom
Each chapter costs less than €1, and each page less than 15 cents. You’ll be entertained for a week or longer! If you’re interested, your support means the world to me.
With the sales from these two books, I can buy groceries for three days. Yes, I live on a budget, aiming to spend €7 or less per day (excluding accommodation). This allows me to travel and write longer than if I were spending, say, €25 per day (excluding accommodation).
My digital nomad journey is now fully underway, as I’ve finally discovered what I want to do for the rest of my life. To everyone who reads my books - thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you have any feedback - positive or constructive - I’d love to hear it. I want to grow as a writer, and your help makes that possible. Let me know if you find my books to be entertaining, inspiring, or informative - and which of these aspects you’d like to see more of in the future. I don’t just write for myself; I write for my readers. My passion, which was born with me, is only now coming to the surface - now that I’m past 40. But it’s blossoming, and it’s a flame I never want to extinguish.
Thank you, dear readers, for reading this blog. Your support is always welcome. Below is the link again - just make sure you select the right language, as there are both English and Dutch versions of my True Travel Tales. You’ll receive an email with the PDF in your inbox - it’s that simple!
With a smile and a happy heart, I sign off. Until next time, dear readers!
